How Can I Organize Generations of Family Photos?

Keeping your family photos organized is hard enough even if everything's already digitized, but what do you do when you're faced with decades of real photographs that aren't organized at all. If you've got some ideas, jump in and help out a fellow reader! Jennifer asks: I have family photos going back to 1904 that were just thrown in round cardboard barrels. They are not labeled or organized in any way. How do you even start to get a handle on 100 years of family disorganization? Every winter I think I will find time to put them in albums or scan them to my computer but it's just so big a project. I would also like to digitize them so I can share with other family members. Are there any tips, tricks, apps, or services that can make this job a little easier? Have some advice for Jennifer? Post it below!
